[Gee, is there a reason why all the threads in this board are made by me? This thread occurs before the gathering.] Spottedstar padded swiftly into the Windclan camp. All was peaceful, which relived her after the information that she'd just discovered. Beside her was a loner, Breeze, who she'd met on the edge of Windclan territory. "Come on", she meowed. "I'll introduce you to a couple of cats and then hold a meeting to tell everyone about the loner clan." - - - Lillypaw, the medicine cat apprentice, padded across the clearing with a bundle of rotten herbs wrapped in a large leaf. The stench of them overwhelmed her scent glands, so she didn't detect the loner scent on Breeze. When she noticed Breeze, however, the old herbs fell out of her jaws as she stared in astonishment. Giving herself a shake to calm down, Lillypaw picked up the herbs again. If the loner was with Spottedstar, the Windclan leader must have had a good reason to bring her inside the camp.

Magpieheart was wandering across the clearing. She sented the loner and quickly moved towards the sent. What! The loner was with Spottedstar! Why would spottedstar bring an intruder into the Windclan camp?! Her fur would have been bristling if she had any. She was deeply confused and very worried. "Spottedstar." She spoke out. "Who is this?" She said it with much respect but her voice was still full of worry.

Breeze looked over at Magpieheart. "Do not worry,"she mewed."I will not harm you. I am merely a poor loner coming to help save the clans from cruel defeat." With that, she turned to Spottedstar and started to follow her. The stench of rotting herbs filled her nose. She looked over at the medicine cat apprentice. She felt sorry for the young cat. Rotting herbs were something you didn't want in your mouth.

Magpie stared open mouthed and despretly confused. What!? She thought. Save the clans? There is nothing wrong with the clans. She slopped down into a crumpled but tecnicaly up right position. She looked over at Lilypaw. "What is going on here?? Who was she??" She hissed quietly.

"It's alright, Magpieheart", Spottedstar meowed. "There is a threat that we do not yet know about, but this loner does. I'll call a meeting in a moment and tell you everything I know." Now, who can I introduce Breeze to... someone who will make her welcome... The leader's gaze rested on Lillypaw, who was staring at the pair in amazement. "I'd like you to meet Lillypaw", Spottedstar meowed to Breeze, calling the loner over by signaling with her tail as she walked towards the young white she-cat. "She's our medicine cat apprentice, and a natural with herbs." - - - - Lillypaw dipped her head respectfully as Spottedstar approached, feeling warmed by her praise. Spottedstar sat down beside her, whispering softly near her ear; "Remember those loners that attacked Icestorm?" Lillypaw nodded. "They're part of a bigger group of cats, a group that plans to destroy us. Breeze was part of them because her brothers wanted to join. She can't fight, and she doesn't want to hurt to innocent, so she was going to be their medicine cat. But she doesn't want to be part of such a thoughtless clan, so I offered her to join Windclan."

Tigerpaw and Quickpaw were both sunning themselves outside of the apprentices den. They’re bright orange tabby pelts made them look as if they were on fire as they’re sides gently rose and fell. They had had just finished hunting and were taking a well earned break. Quickpaw’s ear twitched as she heard a commotion. Without moving any other part of her body she opened her mouth slightly and then jumped up, electrified as she caught the scent of a rogue. ‘Get up ya thug!’ She shoved Tigerpaw, who cracked open an eye that was just as green as his sister’s. ‘Wha?’ He blinked at her stupidly. ‘Taste the air! There’s a rogue in the camp!’ She shot off towards the scent, leaving her brother blinking and still trying to understand what she had said. Finally he decided to just follow her and so he got to his paws and loped after her. ‘How can she move and think so fast so suddenly?’ He grumbled to himself with a sigh.
Quickpaw skidded to a stop as she saw Breeze with Spottedstar. ‘Who’s she?’ She demanded as Tigerpaw came up behind her, ears pricked in interest and though he was still sleepy-eyed, looking as if he were thinking a little clearer. He looked rather easy-going and friendly next to his wary and more careful sister.

"Our new clan member", the leader told the two young cats. "Breeze, this is Tigerpaw and Quickpaw, two of our apprentices. Quickpaw, as you can see by that dash across the clearing, lives up to her name. I'd better introduce you to our medicine cat, Snowshoe. She'll probably make you feel more at home then any of the other warriors." Spottedstar thought this partly because Breeze knew a lot about herbs, and also because Snowshoe had not been born in Windclan; but she didn't say this out loud. [Hehe, I read her bio Speckles =)]

Quickpaw puffed out her chest somewhat proudly and then looked at Breeze again. ‘Hello Breeze.’ She meowed before turning to trot back to the apprentices den, deciding that there was nothing worth getting all bent out of shape about here. Tigerpaw looked confusedly between the two cats and then watched his sister start away. ‘Hiya.’ He meowed before starting after his sister. ‘So we went all the way across the camp for nothing? And now we’re walking all the way back? Geez Quickpaw, next time I’m staying put and not running all over the place just because there’s something going on that I don’t know about.’ He pinned back his ears in slight annoyance as he laid back down. Quickpaw batted his head. ‘Sleephead.’ She joked before laying down next to him.

Breeze watched the two apprentices. Scar and Lizard were like that once, untill Darkwind came. "Hello Lillypaw,"she mewed."I am Breeze. I think it is wonderful that a lovely young cat would choose the path of a medicine cat. I'd much rather be healing cats than wounding them." She looked at Lillypaw fondly. She already liked this cat. Scar always told her it was stupid to pursue healing. "I understand there was a cat wounded by my brother, Scar. May I speak to her?"
Icestorm walked out of the medicine den. She regarded Breeze with her one good eye and said,"That would be me, Icestorm."
Breeze looked at Icestorm sadly. Seeing her up close made her even anrier at her brother. "All I can say is, I'm sorry for what my brother did to you."
Icestorm sighed,"It's not your fault. You need not apologise."

"Icestorm made her own choice in the end", Lillypaw meowed. "She was protecting a kit - and me." She swallowed hard. She would probably be dead if it weren't for Icestorm fighting Darkwind, and Icestorm would be dead if she hadn't gone for help."She did her job as a warrior", the medicine cat apprentice managed to say. She knew that she'd never find the words to thank Icestorm enough.

Breeze gasped. Her brothers hadn't told her they had attacked a kit! She now didn't want anything to do with her brothers or the loner clan. She did feel a pang of sorrow for Lizard though. He was so devoted to protecting her. But he was as horrible as the rest, she just knew it! "I am glad you and the kit weren't killed."she mewed. She turned to Spottedstar. "You should probably introduce me to the rest of your clan."she said.

Snowshoe looked up from the herbs she had been sorting. The smell was pugnent and she could smell nothing but herbs, but that didn't mean her ears weren't able to operate. She stood up, shaking her thick light coat carefully before licking her leopard spotted pelt quickly and trotting out to see what was going on. Her thick wide paws made little noise as they padded towards her leader. Her tufted ears flicked forward as her pale blue eyes looked curiously at the newcomer. When she was close enough she called, 'Whom have we here?' Her short tail twitched as she caught the scent of rogue through the strong herby smell that was clinging to her coat still.

"Yes, I know, I'll do so after- ah, there she is." Spottedstar turned to Snowshoe, who had just appeared beside her. "Breeze, this is our medicine cat, Snowshoe. Since you much prefer working with herbs than fighting, I thought that you'd rather spend your time with her than the other warriors. Snowshoe, Breeze is part of the band of loners that attacked Icestorm. She has no interest in harming innocent cats, so I invited her to join Windclan and help us defeat them. I'll tell you more later."
With a nod to the two cats, Spottedstar leaped onto the slope where she addressed Windclan. "Let all cats old enough the catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" she yowled.

Snowshoe glanced between Spottedstar and Breeze and then smiled. 'Well, welcome to the clan.' She purred, sitting down and looking up to Spottedstar. She twitched her ears as she heard some complaining and grumbling. She looked around and saw Tigerpaw, following far behind Quickpaw, who had lost no time in zipping to the Slope. 'Back and forth, back and forth.' Grumbled Tigerpaw grouchily. 'Oh stop grouching.' Quickpaw called to him as she took her seat and waited for the meeting to start. Tigerpaw sluggishly sat next to his more entergetic sister.
Behind them a brown form raced up, Brownpaw had been with the elders, listening to their stories. Now he sat next to his friends with a content smile. No one knew he was blind but them and his mentor, and he was still going to be a great warrior. He knew that he had already improved from his run over to the Slope, he hadn't tripped over any rocks or run into any cats. He was thrilled.
Badgerpaw walked primly up to the Slope and sat near the back, her eyes shining admiringly up at the leader, her mentor. Badgerpaw's pelt was white and she had two grey stripes beside each of her ears on the top of her head and her tail was grey with a white tip on the end. Beside her a black she-cat with grey stripes sat. Ashpelt looked over at Breeze warily, not exactly in a friendly way at all, and a growl threatened to surface as her dark eyes seemed to darken. She did not like rogues or loners of any kind, especially after what had happened to Icestorm.
A white tom whose pelt had many black stripes all over it like a zebra's trotted into the clearing. Featherflight deposited his prey in the kill pile and the made his way over to the Slope. He sat down and looked up at Spottedstar, dark eyes shining happily. He looked over at Breeze then, eyes showing no hostility. He walked over and sat a little closer to her and smiled. 'Glad to see you, glad you decided to join WindClan, rogues are a bit to rough for my taste.' He winked and then flicked his tail in amusement. One minute we're fighting rogues, the next we're letting them join the clan. He chuckled.

"Not this one", Lillypaw said to Featherflight. "She's not the fighting type." Looking down, the medicine cat apprentice noticed that the leaf full of rotten herbs was still lying in front of her. "I'll just get rid of this", she murmured to the three cats, grabbing it and racing out of the camp as quick as she could. [She will return in my next post]
Out of the warrior's den came Birchfur, giving himself a good shake to wake himself up. He'd decided to stay in his nest for longer than usual, thinking about different ways to improve Brownpaw's ability to scent. Perhaps I could lay a scent trail around the territory, and make him track it a day after. He smiled, liking that idea. Looking towards the front of the crowd, he spotted his apprentice sitting next to Quickpaw and Tigerpaw. Birchfur took a spot a fox-length behind them, not far from the den where he'd just emerged.
