Specklestripe watched Darkclaw's countanance change and noticed his claws flexing. He wondered what made him unhappy all of a sudden. Specklestripe's mind turned to his own sister, who had also been 'stolen' by WindClan, he always felt a bitterness towards WindClan now. He had told no one of his sister, he had kept it a secret, one that he was getting tired of having to carry. He wondered how she was doing there, was she still alive? Yes, he had seen her at the last gathering, and she was a medicine cat even! He shook his head irritatedly. That must be why they stole her. She was always good with plants and they didn't have a medicine cat so they stole my sister. While Specklestripe spoke his countanance only changed slightly from his contentedness, his eyes were the only thing that showed his pain slightly.

The light colored deputy sat silently. His brown eyes stared down at his big sandy paws. He didn't say anything he had even forgotten that Specklestripe was there. His mind wondered back to when he was an apprentice. His father was Fallenheart. He had the same pelt as his fathers, lots of cats had commented on how much alike they looked. Darkclaw had always strived to be like him but no matter what he did, his father was never loved him. His mother was Shattereddreams. Sattereddreams looked remarkably like Goldenpaw. Shattereddreams loved her daughter but never cared for him.

Specklestripe's gold eyes blinked at Darkclaw curiously. He having a flashback? he wondered. He had many times had flashbacks, and they always seemed to happen at the most inconvenient moments. He tried to turned his attention away from Darkclaw, remembering how embarrased he always was after a flashback. He stretched his big paws out in front of him, dug his claws into the ground and dragged the towards himself, leaving the ground scored where his claws once were. He flicked his ears and looked out into the forest after glancing at Darkclaw out of the corner of his eye to see if he was back yet.

Darkclaw snapped back into reality. He tried so desperately to knock those unwanted memories into the very back of his head but they stuck with him still. He let out a little growl of frustration as he glanced down at his paws. Darkclaw shook his head and glanced back up at Speacklestripe. He didn't know what to do next. He had finished his meal and all of his deputy duties for that day. He was free for what ever pleasure he wanted. He was stumped.

[{sorry it took so long!! I completely forgot that this post was here!!}]
Specklestripe put his head to the side curiously but said no more. 'So...' he stretched out on the ground. 'Got any plans for the rest of the day?' His golden eyes watched Darkclaw closely. He was relieved to see that he was better, for he knew how it felt to have a flashback right in front of someone. He flicked his tufted ear again, half wishing that he could just tear the annoying tuft of fur off. He hated how it felt when a breeze blew it, it tickled something awful.

Autumnfur slowly came from her den, her fur hung to her in ragged clumps as she gazed around. Her gaze was hard and cold, nothing like the former cat she was. She raised her tail and glanced at her deputy and warrior and sighed, her bright eyes shining dully. Her ribs stuck from her gaunt figure as she padded out from the shade of her den before she lay down, her paws in front of her. She sighed gently and began to clean out her fur. She hated it when she molted, her fur looked scruffy and un-neat. She twitched her tail and flicked her tail. "Have you sorted out the patrols?" she called to her deputy, her voice strangley distant.

"Yes I figured I would go on the last evening patrol, Would you like to come?" Darkclaw asked Specklestripe in his deep gruff voice. He waited his answer paiently for he had plently of time before evening. His ears flicikered over as he heard movement from behind him. He turned around and saw his leader coming toward them. "Yes Autumnstar, I was about to lead the evening patrol myself," Darkclaw dipped his head respectfully to the Thunderclan leader. His brown eyes seemed lost anddistant as he looked at his leader, For the memory of his family was still with him.

Autumnstar nodded quickly. She flicked her tail in thoughtfull way and looked from Specklestripe to Darkclaw. "I shall accompany you on the patrol, I need to stretch my legs," she said softly and sniffed. She had a small cold but was determined to act normally. She quickly washed her shoulder and walked away, going to pick some fresh-kill.

Specklestripe nodded and smiled respectfully at Autumnstar and then turned to answer Darkclaw. 'Yes, I would like to go on a patrol. I could use the exercise.' he grinned as he looked down at his stocky body, which was muscle but still made him look as if he had eaten too much too many times. He shot a grin up at Darkclaw, taking no notice of his gruff tone. He sat up and blinked at the sky. 'I like a good evening patrol, its cooler then and it is quite agreeable.' he smiled again and glanced over at Autumnstar.

It seemed that gathering cats for the patrol would be easier then Darkclaw thought. "It seems it is all set then, Shall we leave right away?" He inquired. Darkclaw was very eager to finish his duties for the day and then perhaps later he could go to sleep a little early. A small sign of a smile washed across his stone cold face. He stood up and stretched, his muscles rippled beneath his pelt as he relaxed them again.

Autumnstar picked up a small shrew and began to eat it slowly, taking her time. She watched the two warriors for a moment and glanced at her half devoured shrew. She gae a small shrug and buried the remainder of her shrew. Lately she wasn't very hungry and it began to show. The bones in her face stuck out slightly, giving her a guant and hungry look. Her lamp-like eyes were shining and seemed too large for her face, yet her strength never wavered. She sighed gently and padded back to the two warriors. "I'm ready," she said.

Specklestripe looked worriedly at his leader before pulling himself to his paws. He didn't like how she was looking, she didn't look too happy to him either. He shook his pelt and then glanced at Darkclaw. 'I'm ready too!' he grinned a little and waited for someone to start the lead. It definately wans't going to be him, though he would have loved to be a deputy, he wasn't sure if he could stand all the responsibilities that would have come with it. He wasn't the best at remembering stuff and anyway, it would feel weird for others to be looking up to him all the time. He shuddered slightly at the thought. That didn't sound fun, though having nine lives would be handy. The only bad thing about it might be that you could outlive your friends. Then you would have to put up with the sorrow of seeing them die.

Autumnstar watched Specklestripe with slight curiousity, he was turning out to be a fine warrior. She flicked her tail, waiting for Darkclaw to lead. Technically it should have been her to lead, as she was higher in heirachy but she flicked her tail anyway, signalling for Darkclaw to lead. She tilted her head to look out into the forest, one day she'd leave. To find her son. When would that be? She did have a clan to lead. Questions were whirring around her head, making her groan slightly.

Specklestripe twitched his ear as he heard Autumnstar groan. He turned to look at her and put his head to the side, gold eyes worried. 'You alright?' he dared to ask. He didn't like it when any of his clanmates were not feeling well, physically or mentally. He didn't like it, probably because he knew how it felt for he was still going through mental pains, and he tried to help as much as he could. He wanted to ask if she was sure that she wanted to go on the patrol, but he didn't want to question her authority. It seemed like today was a day for bad memories and questions to come back on cats. He had had problems not too much earlier in the forest, Darkclaw looked as if he had had a flashback of some kind, and now Autumnstar was acting strangely.

Autumnstar bit back a retort and shook her head in a docile manner. "I simpily have a headache, I will get something for it later," she said softly, as if that ended the conversation. She looked at Specklestripe, he reminded her of Wolfbane, always worried about everyone else. She smiled gently and waited.
