When Rivermist finally appeared, Dustfang was relieved in so many ways. Then the kits were born. Suddenly Dustfang didn't feel so great. Well, he was happy they were all healthy and all, but.. wow. He was a father. His head swam. "Uh.. Rivermist... stop spinning around." He mumbled, blinking a few times and licking his dry lips with a strange look in his wide yellow eyes. He was so nervous he was surprised he hadn't left a wet spot on the nursery floor, if you know what I'm talking about. He swayed around a bit, hoping he wouldn't land on a rock or something. That would probably hurt. A whole lot. Then his knees buckled and he fell flat on his face in the mud, right in front of Orchidwing and the rest of the audience in the Thunderclan nursery. This emotional thing was too much stress for the poor ol' comedian of Thunderclan who wasn't used to any of this stuff. He was used to joking around and staying around in the camp and laying around lazily. But he was like a different cat now. He had an apprentice - even if she did hate him - and a mate, and now he had four adorable kits! This life couldn't get any better! Right? He hoped that. More happiness might lead to something serious. That was a strange thought. Death of happiness. But it seemed like the most painless death. Why was he thinking of death? He and Orchidwing were the causes of four new lives! Of course, he couldn't look at them, though. 'Cause he was on the ground, nearly unconscious from excitement.

Orchidwing had gone through much pain to get them here but her heart had never know so much happiness as she gazed lovingly at her four presious kits. Tears of joy filled her aqua eyes and she wiped them away with a white paw. She now could see each kit clearly. One was a tabby colour, the other was a goldeny brown colour and faint black spots could be seen on its little body. A grey kit lay at her side, It's grey body had black stripes running down its black and its paws were surprisingly big and jet black. The fourth and final kit was extreamly small. On its black pelt faint silver swirls could be seen. Orchidwing looked at them with much pride in her eyes. Her kits!!! She had been waiting so long for this!!! Then she gazed over at Brightkit. She couldn't forget her. She looked at Dustfang. He looked a little bit well, stressed. Then he said for Rivermist to stop spinning she knew it was all to much for him. Then suddenly Dustfang fell. She looked over at him curiously. Worry flew threw her. "Dustfang are you all right?"

Brightkit almost lept for joy. She'd been here to see her foster sibling's birth! She felt so happy, and play-fighting with them right now, but she knew that wasn't a good idea. She just hoped the kits liked her. But then, she heard a thump, and she looked over her shoulder to see Dustfang on the ground. She padded over to him and sniffed at his head, then prodded him with her paw. "Dustfang, are you okay?" Brightkit mewed, suddenly feeling a pang of worry inside her. Then, a small and silly idea popped into her head, and a mischievious-like look was on her face. Brightkit walked slowly around Dustfang, her white belly fur close to the ground. Soon, Dustfang's tail was in sight. Brightkit pounced, put her claws were still sheathed, and landed on Dustfang's tail, almost biting it out of instink, but holding back because she didn't want to hurt him. Orchidwing would get mad at her if she did, but also if she did, it'd be by accident. Brightkit just thought that a suprise attack could get him to stand up again. She had no idea what it was like to be a father, nor will she ever know, but she might someday know what it's like to be a mother.

Autumnstar:; As Rivermist arrived Autumnstar slipped out of the nursery, knowing that it would be too crowded with all of them in. Anyway, seeing a birth wasn't something that she enjoyed seeing. She had witness only two in her life, firstly when she gave birth and when Goldenpatch had given birth. As she passed Orchidwing she gently nudged her and whispered to her, "I'll come and see when it's over, good luck." She twitched her tail as she threw a smile at Orchidwing, she knew that Orchidwing would be happy with her kits. She suddenly felt a pang of jelousy, why couldn't she be happy with her own kit? Her body visably shook as she thought about her kit, she growled to herself before she padded towards her den for a nap, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to sleep. Who had ever heard of a cat with insomnia?

Rivermist spun sharply in surprise at Orchidwing's exclamation. Dustfang had fallen to the ground, and at first glance, seemed to be in trouble - but to her experienced eye, she saw that he was just excited. Shooing Brightkit, who had pounced on his tail, gently away, she chewed up some thyme and then offered it to him. "Here - it'll help with the excitement. After you've eaten it, I want you out of the Nursery - Orchidwing needs time to breath. You too, Brightkit - you can come and gather herbs with me, if you want."

Dustfang felt the bites on his tail and yelped, twisting his head around to see the miniature villan literally on his tail. Then Rivermist shooed the kit away and offered him some thyme. He stood back up, shaking his head to wake himself up from his little 'fall'. He thanked her and took it greatfully, chewing it thoughtfully before obeying her and licking the top of Orchidwing's head and disapearing out of the nursery.
I'm a father! Wow! This day couldn't get excitinger! Wait. Was excitinger a word? I'm not sure. So it is now. He grinned to himself, sauntering into the warrior's den and plopping onto the ground with a grin. Someone just try to stop his joy. He could just imagine everyone's surprise. The prettiest she-cat in Thunderclan had the comedian tom's kits. He grinned and laid on his back, staring at the top of the den with a silly smile plastered on his face.
A gray tomkit nuzzled around his mother, trying to scent out the milk since he couldn't see. His green eyes were still closed and hidden from the world. He was one of the biggest kits out of the litter, though he was the second born. He mewled pitifully for his mother, whom he could not find.

Orchidwing purred as Dustfang licked her head as he passed. She was gald he was alright. Looking up at the sky through the bracken and bramble net which surrounded the nursery to protect it from rain and such, she noticed seven wood ducks flying over her head. They were in perfect formation. The adults were at the front and the duckings which must have just learnt to fly were coming in as a v shape. Thats us, she smiled briefly. My family, together. Just then she heard a small mewing coming from beside her. She looked down and saw her biggest kit squirming around trying to sent her milk. She carefully nudged him over to her. She licked him along his back and sweetly snuggled him briefly before setting him back by her side.
OCELOTKIT
A small kit swiggled by his mothers side. His nose twitched trying to understand all the smells that were surrounding him. Her briefly stopped suckling to mew pitifully at the other kit beside him that was prodding him with tiny paws. He lifted his head slightly, stuggling. Then looked around as is he could see.

"I'm sorry, Rivermist," Brightkit mewed, as Rivermist shooed her away. She looked down at her paws in shame. She was just trying to help, and she repeated it outloud,"I was just trying to help, Rivermist." She shot a glance over to Dustfang, and wondered if he was mad at her, but she quickly turned her head away. She hadn't meant to hurt him. But when Rivermist offered to help her find herbs, her spirits brightened. Would she be going out of the camp? Or would she just be taking a trip to the medicine cat's den? She'd rather go out of camp, though she wasn't sure if she was allowed. She was still farely young, so she imagined she wouldn't be allowed. Maybe Autumnstar would make an exception. But, Brightkit did love to help out, though she wanted to be a warrior instead of a medicine cat, maybe she'd learn something that would be useful in the future. Brightkit raised her bright amber gaze to Rivermist. "Can I?" she mewed excitedly. Her neck fur bristled with excitement as she thought of going out of camp, without any cat protesting, but she knew as well as anyone that there was a slim chance she'd be allowed.

"Of course." Rivermist smiled gently at the small kit. "How about you start by going to tell Autumnstar that we'll be out of camp for a bit? Tell her you'll be going with me, and that we're going to go collect herbs."

Orchidwing purred at the young kits enthusiasum. She smiled at Brightkit and said in a happy, motherly voice "Ah little Brightkit...." She drifted of, thinking about Brightkit's future. She would become a warrior, get a mate, have kits of jer own. She smiled deeply. Her purring grew louder. She then realized how tierd she was. It hit her all of a sudden. She lay her head down gently on the green moss. "Goodbye Brightkit, goodbye Rivermist. When I wake up we can name them!" She directed the end part at Brightkit. Then she drifted off into a deep sleep.

"Okay, Orchidwing," Brightkit whispered, not wanting to wake her up. She turned and ran over to Autumnstar's den, then nervously called for her: "Autumnstar?" She waited anxiously for a reply. Brightkit wasn't sure if Autumnstar was actually in her den, but she didn't know where else to look. She found that her white paws where kneeding the ground, and her white and brown pelt was bristleing with excitement, and her imagination flooded over her once again. She was standing on a small stone in the middle of ThunderClan's territory, her mouth agape to drink in all of the scents. She was much older now, like a 6 moon old apprentice. How she couldn't wait for that day, in the real world. One step closer to being a warrior, and she might even be able to lead a patrol at that age. Then, she leaped off the stone and crouched down low. She'd spotted a small mouce, but it was clearly getting plumper, since the snow was melting and newleaf was finally here. She creeped forward, placing her paws delicately in front of one another. Soon, she pounced, and killed the mouce with a swift bite. Brightkit shook off the thought, though she liked to imagine herself skillfully catching prey.

Autumnstar:; Autumnstar opened her eyes as she heard Brightkit call her name and she groaned inwardly. Would no one let her sleep? Composong herself she padded forward slightly before calling out. "C'mon in, Brightkit," she said softly before she smiled and wrapped her thick tail around her paws. She twitched her ears, wondering where her apprentices had gone. She felt hungry. Her mind wandered for a second as she thought about her routine for the day. She would eat and see Orchidwing who would name her kits. She would conduct the ceremony then later, she would see to a patrol. Such plans eluded her as she wanted to live life at the edge of her claws, but plans weren't that bad either...

Brightkit heard Autumnstar's voice, and she padded closer to peer into Autumnstar's den through the lichen. Brightkit thought it was the coolest thing, the walls smooth and a sandy floor that felt good on her paws. Brightkit sat down in front of Autumnstar, curling her tail around her paws as she saw Autumnstar do. Brightkit took one last look around the den, then looked at Autumnstar and excitement shot through her as well as nervousness. Being a kit, she hadn't talked to Autumnstar much, because she was in the nursery a lot, though Autumnstar came to visit Orchidwing. Brightkit's bright amber gaze was filled with excitement. She cleared her throat, trying to sound mature, and began to speak. "Rivermist would like me to tell you that she's taking me out of camp so I can help her find herbs." Brightkit meowed, and she was surprised how clear her voice was. She just hoped that Autumnstar would let her go, and know that Brightkit wanted to walk the path of a warrior. Brightkit tried not to jump up and run out of her leader's den and go out of camp, for that's what she'd do if she didn't control her excitement. Please, StarClan, let her say I can go! I've never been out of camp before! Brightkit prayed silently as she waited for Autumnstar's response.
