Heathermist walked out of the medicine den in disbelief. She had found out shocking news. She couldn't believe this was happening. She had found out she was going to have kits. At first she couldn't believe it. Then an overwhelming sense of joy washed over her. She would love her kits more than she loved her mate, Darkwater. She would have to watch what she ate extra carefully. She didn't want to harm her unborn kits! She couldn't wait to tell Darkwater. He would be so exited! Or at least, she hoped he would. She heard another cat come up to her.

Nightpaw loped over to the plumb she-cat. She smelled different, like a queen! "Hey!" he meowed siletly. He was a quet cat.

"Hello Nightpaw."Heathermist mewed to the apprentice."How are you?" She tried to controll the urge to blurt out everything that was on her mind. Finally she burst."I'm gonna have kits!!!" she blurted out. She looked down sheepishly."Sorry, I didn't mean to burst like that. I'm just so exitied!"

Nightpaw rolled his eyes. As long as he was an apprentice, he couldnt have kits. "Whatcha gonna name em? Who da dad?" He always asked short questions and almost never gave long answeres.

Nightpaw purred in amusment. He could remember his days as a kit vagly. He gazed up at the sky, in one of his silent phases. He twiched his tail and watched as the leaves ,now many colors, fell from the tress and slowly drfted down to earth, Slowly...slowly...slowly...

Heathermist watched Nightpaw. She remembered the days when she was an apprentice. It seemed so far away now. Now she was a queen. She would watch her kits become apprentices, and then noble warriors of River Clan. She looked towards the nursery, where she would be sleeping for awhile. "I should go now."she said."I'm going to peek in the nursery. I might as well get used to the smell." With that, she walked towards the nursery.

Nightpaw raced after the queen without a word. He wanted to see the nursy to! He purred and slowed as he caught up to her without a word. He had a way of never talking, but always getting his message across.
