Nightpaw{hawk}'s bioNightpaw sat, tail twitching, under a shdey tree. Ears pricked he waited for his mentor to apprear. He Licked his lips and looked around. Probly forgot anout me, like veryone else! he thought sadly. He had had a harsh life, and it wasn't getting any eaiser. He wondered if it would get easier when he became a warrior. Even though he would have to train his own apprentice someday. He hoped he wouldnt get a crudy one. Nothing worse then getting an apprentice that didn't listen. He listened very well and was a great leaner. He was getting better at hunting and fighting all the time. "Come on Wetwhisler! Were are you?" He mumbled.

The bushes ahead rustled slightly, and Wetwhisker emerged, a water vole clamped in his jaws. The brown warrior trotted over to his apprentice, dropping the prey at his paws. "Sorry", he meowed. "On the way this one practically walked past me. I had to catch it." As he spoke, Wetwhisker began to bury the vole. Within a couple of heart-beats it was covered completely. "So", the warrior meowed, "I thought that I'd check how you're hunting is going, and if you impress me, there's plenty of time to practice fighting moves."

Perfect! I love hunting!Nightpaw nodded and crouched into a stalking position. He scent the air for prey, and scented a mouse nearby. He placed each paw carefully. When atlast the mouse saw him, it was to late. He was already on it and killed it with a swift bite to the back of the neck. He dropped it at his mentors paws, looked up and turned to cathe more. He would catche two more land things, then try fishing.

Wetwhisker nodded. "Very good", he meowed. Quickly the warrior scraped some dirt over his apprentice's prey. Then he raised his head, tasting the air quickly, even though he already knew what he was about to scent. Mouse, vole, bird.... The list went on. "See what else you can find", the warrior meowed.

Nightpaw stood very still. He lifted his head and sniffeied. Rabbit, close by to! He sank into a crouch, crawling slowly towards it. It saw am and hopped away. Not one to give up, he bolted after it, his loped bringing him closer and closer. He sank his claws into it and hung on, dragging his hind paws. Eventually, he pushed off his feet and bit its throat. I slowly died. His breath heavy, he dragged his near lost prey to Wetwhisker.

"Very good", Wetwhisker repeated. "You're already a great hunter. Now it's my turn to give it a shot." The brown warrior tasted the air briefly before walking carefully in the direction of the prey that he had chosen. It was another rabbit. Wetwhisker lowered himself to just above the ground and creped forward. There was the small creature, its back turned. The cat pounced silently, landing on the prey that had only just realized what was going on. Nightpaw's mentor returned with the catch, burying it beside his apprentice's pieces of fresh-kill.

Nightpaw watched as his mentor killed the rabbit. He licked his lips. always hungery made him want to eat the prey right away! But the warrior code said not to... Yeah, it also said not to kill out of pure cold blood, but that didn;t stop some cats now did it? Nightpaw shivered. He hated thinking about that. He was left to die, yet here he was! He nodded as Wetwhisked buried his pry next to his. "What do you want me to do now?" some call me night others call me day...

"You can decide", his mentor told him. "We can stay around this area for a little bit more, or go and do a bit of fishing. What do you like better?" Had this question been given to him, Wetwhisker's response would have been immediate. Fishing. He loved the river, and anything to do with it; even as a kit. That's what had earned him his first name of Wetkit, as his fur had almost always been damp whenever he'd entered the nursery.
[Sorry about the long reply. I've been busy with my xmas shopping ^^]

OOC:No prob! ;D I might be a littel unactive to. Makeing a kangaroo rp with my cousin
IC: Nightpaw thought hard. He liked fishing and needed practice with it, but what if he hunted and got loads of prey for the CLans? "Well, I need to practice my fishing, so I guess we can fish." He chose short replies over long ones. The exception being his earlyes spat with two other appretices right before training! He licked his lips and shifted his weight from one hind leg to another.

Wetwhisker hide his gratitude as he began to trot forward. He signaled for Nightpaw to follow him as he headed towards a nearby stream. He smiled as the sound of running water hid his ears, telling him which way to go. The tabby warrior emerged from the shrubbery and sat down on the edge of the stream. Peering into the crystal-clear water, he spotted a few small silver fish swimming through the middle.

Nightpaw sat next to his mentor unmoveing. He didn't want to scare the fish in any way! He bent down, carefully watching.

"This is a bit harder then fishing in the river", Wetwhisker told his apprentice. "It's nowhere near as noisy, so you have to remain quiet." Shooting a glance at his apprentice, Wetwhisker reflected that Nightpaw had already figured that part out. "You also have to make a smaller splash when you scoop the fish out, so that the rest of them are not alerted. Like always, watch where your shadow falls; it can give you away. I'll have a try first, so that if they all swim away, I'm the one to blame." He chuckled slightly, staring into the water.
The brown warrior waited until a fish swam very close to the bank. Just when it was about to swim back and join its friends, Wetwhisker poked his paw into the stream, drawing the fish out of its wet home. It wriggled on the bank for a few heart-beats before Wetwhisker bit its neck. The tom peered into the stream nervous, and breathed a silent sigh of relief that the other fish hadn't noticed.

Nightpaw crept closer to the waters edge, keeping his shadow off the water. He had seen how Wetwhisker had got the fish, now it was his turn. He shot his paw into the water. He got the fish he wanted and flung it onto the shore, btu his spaalsh had been to big. It had scared the other fish away! He hissed and dropped the fish near Wetwhiskers.
"Sorry bout that," he ventured, wondering if he was in trouble for not being able to kjeep his splash small enough. He thought it was pretty good for a frist attempt! At least he was quiet! Well, he was almost always quiet anyway but that wasn't the point. He licked his paw in anger.

"That's ok." Wetwhisker lay his tail-tip on Nightpaw's shoulder. "Happens easily. I'm surprised that my attempt turned out successful - I don't usually come here; I stay by the river." The brown tabby rose to his paws, picking up the two fish and signaling with his tail for his apprentice to follow. Trotting silently upstream, he came to a small pool where there were plenty of fish that had not yet been scared away. "Here we go", he meowed. "You can have another shot."
