Mintpaw slunk into the apprentice's den for her very first time. She glanced around uncertainly with stormy green eyes, unsure of what to do next. Her eyes met many blank stares that seemed neither inviting nor welcoming. Suddenly she wished Stormpaw's mentor hadn't taken him out already, and she wished that Rockkit, Silverkit, and Graykit were made apprentices with her and Stormpaw. It was unfair that they were taken from her in her kithood. But Mintpaw pushed her chin up and lifted her tail slightly. It wouldn't help to grive now. This was a happy time and Mintpaw should act like it. Pricking up her ears she looked around with glimmering eyes. "Hey guys!" She mewed warmly, trying to spark some kind of friendliness.

"Hi Mintpaw! How do you like being an apprentice so far?" Foxpaw asked her warmly. He remembered how excited he was when he became an apprentice. Now, he couldn't wait to become a warrior.

"Well, I'm doing fine. I love being an apprentice! I'm kind of jealous that Stormpaw gets to go out today, and I have to wait until tomorrow though." The gray she-cat admitted quietly, her voice solomn and withdrawn as usual- for Mintpaw was always this way. She was definately one shy cat. Although, when she looked up at the tomcat she let her whiskers twitch with amusement and excitement. However hard she tried to hide them, Mintpaw had feelings too. Trying to shed her rough exterior, Mintpaw flicked her tail and looked around eagerly, showing her real self, or trying to.

"You'll get your turn soon enough. Besides, it gives you more time to look around the den and talk to other apprentices. Though most of them seem to be out training...." he trailed off, looking around the den. "You better start finding yourself a place to sleep in here before all the others decide to move their spots around to take up as much space as possible. I remember I could hardly fit in here at first!" He smiled and laughed at the memory.

"Really?" Mintpaw's stormy eyes grew as round as the full moon as she gazed at the older apprentice. "How quaint." SHe mewed sarcastically, her way of cracking a joke, albeit a non-funny one." Bounding past the apprentice, she examined the bundles of nests all in an array. Seeing an empty spot, she pounced forward hastily, as if she were in competition for it currently. Landing on the bare ground, she glanced over her shoulder at Foxpaw, triumph clear in her eyes. "I found one!" SHe announced in her small voice that carried through the air as if over a lake. Quiet but flowing for seemingly forever. Her gray tail was puffed out with barely contained excitement and her paws tingled. She was an apprentice of RiverClan!

Foxpaw laughed. "When I first became an apprentice, all of the other apprentices stole all the extra moss. Just to get a decient nest, I had to steal a moss from the other nests a little at a time. I guess it's their idea of a joke. Your lucky they're all training right now, otherwise you wouldn't have a nest!"

"Not all of them, Foxpaw." Kestrelpaw stalked into the apprentices den. She flicked some fur out of her eyes and turned to Mintpaw. " Hey Mintpaw! How are you liking being an apprentice, apart from having to steal other cats moss its all right ay!" She cast a glance to Foxpaw and gave a little giggle.

Foxpaw wondered why Kestrelpaw glanced at him when she was talking to Mintpaw. He shook off the question. He picked up some spare moss with his claws and tossed it toward the other two, all the while laughing. He ran backward a few steps to make sure they weren't going to try and get him back.

Kestrelpaw gave a low growl. "Don't - do - that!"She hissed playfuly, while in between words she jumped closer swiping a little paw at him. Claws shelted of course. Her eyes twinkled brightly! Her fur swayed around her as she went.
Picking up some of his moss she threw it at him akwardly! "Take that!!!"

Foxpaw squatted down low, and listened as the moss whistled over his head and hit the back of the den. He purred as he quickly made a ball of moss, though it was a sorry excuse for a ball, as he was trying to hurry. He tossed it at Kestralpaw, but he let it go too late, and it exploded on the ground in front of him, covering his face with moss. He let out an annoyed growl.

Kestrelpaw burst into laughter. She tried to control herself but she simply couldn't! "You big furball!" She hissed playfully as she quickly pulled together another mossball and chucked it at him. "Or should I say mossball!" She exploded into fits of giggles again. Her paws couldn't hold her up she was laughing so much so she fell face first onto the moss covered floor.

"Hey, no fair! I wasn't ready!" Foxpaw started laughing, if not from the moss fight, from Kestrelpaw laughing so much. Sometimes, that would be all that it would take to make him laugh. He scooped up more moss and threw it at her, taking his chance while she was on the ground.

The moss hit Kestrelpaw on the back. "No fair!" It was still slightly damp and got mixed in with her fur. " That will take ages to lick out!" She exclaimed. She quickly threw together some moss and hurled it at him. "That will teach you some manners! You don't hit shecats!!!"

"It isn't like I hurt you or anything..." Foxpaw trailed off as he reared up to try and catch the moss, but he missed and it hit his side. Since he has shorter fur, it fall out, and only a little was caught in his fur. He knocked it out with his paw. He flicked a few moss bits out of Kestrelpaw's long fur with his tail.
