Letting out a deep breath of air, she turned around, debating on the words to say next. She didn't particually have any friends, but how was she to admit that to him. He was kind and friendly, surely having other friends. "I don't really have many friends, I have my Clan, and as my father said, it's all that should matter to a cat." She loved quoting her father; he was her hero.
A wrestle? She thought, horrified at the thought of it. But as the idea slipped out her mind, she battered his head playfully, moving aside and letting out a sly smile. "I'm a champoin at defending..." she bragged, her green eyes twinling.

Brackentail grinned. 'We'll see about that!' He jumped up on his tiptoes and pranced towards Brownpelt playfully. He waited for a moment and then pounced at her. I knew there was some playfulness somewhere in there. he thought to himself triumphantly. He didn't really agree that a clan is all a cat needed but he didn't argue with her, he wanted to play, not fight. He was glad that she wasn't all serious, and she would play in th right mood. Too many cats didn't like to play with him very often, he himself loved to play.

Brownpelt gave him a playful swat as she doged his pounce and gave him a wide smile. So long since I did that... Her brother had always played with her, teaching her new tricks. "So.. gone on a patrol recently?" She was always trying to start random conversations, to throw him off. Of course, she was now warming up to him.

Brackentail sat up. 'Patrol? Not very recently, no. I was on hunting duty the other day though.' he put his head to the side, trying to remember the last time he had been on a patrol. Last patrol I didn't go, time before that? No, time before that? No. Maybe the time before that. I think, maybe. he thought for a moment, forgetting his tussle for a moment. He flicked his tail thoughtfully as he looked at the sky.

Poucning on the chance to get Brackentail back, she jump on his back, laughing as the poor warrior was trying to figure out when was his last patrol. The laughter poured into her, and a smile upon her face, something that hadn't happened in ages. The shell was broken.
"Oh, dear." She got off his back, brushing herself off, but still smiling, giving a happy vibe. "I'm getting tired," she said, in the process of yawning.

Brackentail shook himself and smiled good naturedly. He was enjoying this. 'Uh oh!' he teased as he pounced at her. He was glad that the ice had been broken, he liked it when cats let out their inner kit. He nipped at her a little and tried to bat at her face. 'Trickster!' He meowed at her with a grin. That was a tactic he would have to remember, that would come in handy sometime.

She gave a large laugh, as the held her head high, smiling and gazing inton the distance. Her laughter scared her for a moment... did she know she could laugh? It certainly hadn't happened in so long. There was something different about this cat... she wanted to like him, wanted to smile. He was kind and generous, trying to be himself and bring out himself in others. A good school that Forest had," she noted to herself.
"I sure am trickster!" She liked being tricky and trying to fool people, always amused her, how the cat brain worked.

Brackentail grinned as he heard her laugh. 'See! There's your kit, it wanted to come out and now you have let it! Don't you feel better?' he batted at her again and then jumped back and watched her carefully. He liked this cat, she was smart and could obviously remember things well. Cats that could remember things well always had his respect, seeing as he still had problems with his memory. He crouched but stayed on tiptoe, ears up and alert, waiting for her next move.

"Well, I suppose. I'm not much of a laughing type of cat, but it was nice to let it out, even though it goes against everything my father beleived in." She sighed, once again, letting out some feelings. Her eyes were stiff, not showing any emotion. Her father always had a strict policy, once she obeyed to the fullest. But now... she was relaxed, more like Forestpaw.

Brackentail put his head to the side curiously. She sure does refer to her dad a lot. 'So what did you dad believe in? Working all day with a frown and when not working sitting serious like so?' Brackentail sat up stiff and straight, working his face into a serious frown and putting his ears back slightly. He curled his tail carefully over his front paws. The only thing he could not make serious was his eyes, which still sparkled with fun, joy, and the love of being relaxed. He looked off into the distance, looking quite serious but for his eyes, which could not be tamed. He twitched the end of his tail slightly, as if thinking deeply about something.

"He believed that a warrior should work hard, concentrate on their surroundings and never play on duty. But when off duty, he was fun and loving.. maybe still a bit more on the strict side." Pride beamed when she talked about her father. He was always her idol... always so loving and kind to her and Forest.. but strict when he was a warrior, and not being a father.

Brackentail relaxed himself from his uncomfortable pose. 'Sounds like my father.' he growled. 'Except he is never fun. He always looks like what I just showed you, accept he was never never joking about it. He sat down with his ears back in irritation at the rememberance. 'We never have gotten along.' he smiled crookedly, trying to get some humor back into the conversation. He hated gloomy, 'everybody hates me' conversations, he shuddered at how silly he had been earlier, complaining about his situation.

Brownpelt only gave him a small smile. "I know the feelings, but my father did have a happy side, which was alwys fun. My mom was more fun... Ghost had her personality. She was young and sweet, but had the ability to be serious... she was wonderful." Memories of her moter flowed in, and she could almost smell her mother's scent.

Brackentail grinned again. 'I don't think I do have the ability to be serious, it died a while back I think.' He chuckled a little at the thought as he glanced up at the sky with a smile, remembering his own mother who was watching him now. He liked the thought of his mother always watching him and being with him. He closed his eyes and pictured her sitting up there, bright eyes shining with the pride that he had seen so many times. If only she was there right next to him and not so far away in the sky.

Brownpelt gave him a week smile, seeing him tilt his head tp StarClan, lost in his own thoughts. She, too, held her head high, searching the above Clan for an answer. But, much like her father, she never felt she found an answer. "I see you turn to StarClan, a lot.." she commented, not wanting to insult him, and stating a fact more.
