Windfleet raced along, not even looking at Birchfur as he ran along beside her. "Yesterday, when I was on a patrol. It was really faint then, but its stronger today." She turned to look at Dewdrop briefly before turning back to look at the ground ahead of her, pondering his question. "Your loyalty to the Clan should come first," she mewed. "If I don't survive this, I need you to go and alert the Clan as to the dangers." Her voice carried the hint of a warning in it. She continued to race along, her sole aim to get to this smell and see if it was a threat... she opened her mouth and scented the air again. Yes, it was definetly stronger now... She skidded to a halt, staring at the remains of several rabbit's rotting in front of her. "That could have fed most of the Clan," she whispered. "Birchfur, Dewdrop, can you scent any other beings here besides us?" she barked out, all the time slowly advancing on the dead prey.

Dewdrop growled. "So you will be the stupid hero whilst if all three of us battle we would most probably survive?" he remarked. He was sick of cats acting like this all of the time! He twitched his tail and opened his mouth once again. "Leaf litter, leaf mould and dung is all I can smell," he said and wrinkled his nose.

"Thank you, Dewdrop," said Windfleet, ignoring the comment about heroics. She scented the air, and confirmed silently what Dewdrop had said; there was nothing dangerous here. "Dewdrop, Birchfur, help me bury this," she said, gesturing with her paw at the rabbit's.

Dewdrop shook his head scathingly. He twitched his tail and gritted his teeth before he quickly started to dig a hole. His tail lashed side to side as he did so, he was seriously annoyed.

Windfleet began to drag a rabbit over to where Dewdrop was digging. Her eyes watering at te stench, she dropped the rabbit next to the half-dug hole. "Nasty," she said, then turned away to get the next one. Luckily theres only three, she thought wryly. This stench is enough to make anyone faint.

Dewdrop quickly widened the hole and pulled in the rabbit. He heaved silently and wrinkled his nose is disgust. He looked at Windfleet and silently dragged another carcass over and dropped it in the hole before he quickly walked away, clearing his nose of crowfood.

Birchfur covered his nose with his paw in disgust. Sighing, he forced himself to take it off and pad over to help Dewdrop. The smell was almost unbearable. As the warrior took a breath brake of the stink, Birchfur widened to hole slightly to make room for the final piece of wasted prey.

Windfleet dragged the last rabbit over and dumped it in the hole, then began to cover it with dirt. When the hole was entirely filled in, Windfleet stepped away, flanks heaving like she had just run a mile. "Let's get away from here," she meowed, and began to head back up the moor. As the smell grew fainter, Windfleet turned to her companions. "I wonder what could have done that," she said. "Fox or badger, I would guess."

"Don't see what else could of done it", Birchfur agreed as he trotted quickly away from the burial site. Pausing to give his fur a quick lick, the tom added, "There's no cat that would waste such prey."

"Unless its a rouge, perhaps," said Windfleet, "But only WindClan cats have the ability to catch rabbits. The rest are so slow!" she said this with a certain smugness, and a small smirk crossed her face.

"I don't know but it seems to me that they wanted to prey to be found, I mean it wasn't hidden or anything," Dewsrop said with a slight shrug. He twitched his tail at Windfleet and gently smiled. "ThunderClan probably could," he said seriously. "Their territory carries rabbits too. Plus it depends on the build and speed of the cat, it doesn't matter about Clans," he added gently. He didn't like the fact how some cats were smug about being the /only/ one to catch rabbits, but in perspective others could too.

"Thunderclan wouldn't come all the way here only to catch rabbits and leave the prey behind", Birchfur pointed out. "and that doesn't explain the dung, either. Besides, do you know of a rouge that would leave food scattered around behind them? It's a tricky case, that's for certain."

"All right, Dewdrop," said Windfleet, laughing slightly. "I won't say that again; you're right, each Clan has its own abilities. Imagine sleeping under trees!" she repressed a small shudder of horror at the thought. "I need the open air." Turning to Birchfur, she became serious. "If the rouge had something against WindClan," she said, "I wouldn't put it past them." she sighed. "But there is no cat with a rivalry with WindClan. That is, not that I know of." she glanced at the warriors. "Hopefully you don't either."

Birchfur shook his head, but Windfleet's words made him think. Being fairly young, he'd only attended a couple of gatherings. As far as he could remember, no cat had shown fierce hostility toward Spottedstar or any of her warriors. If there was a cat that had serious problems Windclan, they'd stayed in the shadows.
The brown-pelted warrior began to pad away, still deep in thought. He mentally crossed out all the possible causes, only to find that there were no conclusions left. What could it possibly be? he asked himself over and over again.

Windfleet entered camp, heading directly over to Spottedstar's den. "Spottedstar?" she called into the entrance. "Spottedstar, I have to speak to you."
OOC:// Lets not move to another board, since Silver RP's Spottedstar anyway.
