Windfleet sat on the hills, watching the small figures of a hunting patrol hunting below her. She was sitting so still it would be hard for any passerby to notice that she was there; she seemed to be part of the rocks. A rabbit hopped past, and Windfleet followed ot with her eyes as it disappeared into it's den. Windfleet slowly brought her eyes back to the hunting patrol, who were now gathering together and starting to head back to camp. She closed her eyes, letting the wind sweep over her and relishing the feel of the cool, crisp, and clean air. Still not moving, Windfleet pondered everything that had been happening. She could feel the winds of change, heralding things that may bring trouble, but she wasn't that worried. WindClan can hold its own, she thought. Nothing shall ever drive us to leave this place. Not two-legs, not other Clans. We're ready for anything. And Windfleet, staring out over the hills and into the distance, had absolutley no idea how prepared they would need to be.

"Hey Windfleet." A voice rang out behind the slope, followed by a glimpse of a red-ish brown pelt. Birchfur appeared from behind a boulder, pausing to look around before and bounding up to sit beside the deputy. "What you doing?" he asked respectfully, licking his ruffled fur.

"Birchfur." Windfleet tilted her head slightly, acknowlodging the warrior. "I'm sitting and thinking," she replied to his question. "And how are you?" She surveyed Birchfur carefully. She always liked this warrior, and he was quite friendly.

Dewdrop flicked his tail as his jaws found the rabbit's throat. He smiled with grim satisfaction as the rabbit suddenly went limp. "This'll feed a kit or two," he said softly to himself and smiled gently. He twitched his ears as he heard the two voices. "Hello Birchfur, Windfleet," he said formally, dipping his head to each in turn. He quickly buried his kill and walked over to the pair. "Hunting's good today," he said and grinned.

"Hi Dewdrop", Birchfur meowed. "Nice to know. Personally I don't feel like starving today." Answering Windfleet's previous question, he added. "Any reason why I wouldn't be fine?" He smiled in a friendly way, the end of his tail twitching back and forth.

"If you're hungry, you can have the rabbit I caught," he said, flicking his tail over to the mound of dirt. He twitched his tail and neatly wrapped it around his paws as he sat down. He gently began to lick his paw and draw it around his jaws and face as he gently began to clean his white and red flecked fur.

"Hello, Dewdrop," Windfleet mewed. Turning to Birchfur, she anwsered, "No, of course not. I just ran out of things to say." Winking in the direction of Dewdrop, she said, "You're hungry?" Prodding Birchfur's stomach, she smirked, "With a stomach like that you should be able to go on for ages." She grinned slightly, showing that she was teasing, then turned to Dewdrop, becoming suddenly serious. "Have you guys noticed anything out of the ordinary recently? Like... crow - food where there shouldn't be or something?"

Dewdrop grinned at Windfleet, he smirked at the fact she was teasing him. He gently chuckled at her remarks until his gaze grew serious again. "Crow food?" he said. His memories flashed before him as he thought. "I found crow food in those shrubs, I couldn't scent anything on them though," he said softly, flicking his tail to a patchy fern a good distance away.

Birchfur frowned, his eye-brows creasing. "I haven't noticed anything..." he meowed. "Why? have you?" he asked the deputy. As he was thinking a mouse dashed past his paws, but he only noticed it as it scurried away. The reddish-brown warrior sighed. "I can't catch a mouse when sits on my paws", he muttered under his breath.

"No, but I think I've smelled it," she said, pointing with her paw at the far edge of the moor. "It's coming from over there." She stopped, looking rather worried. "I know I should have told Spottedstar," she said, "But I thought that until I knew what it was, I wouldn't tell her. She has enough to think about." She paused, looking at her Clan mates. "That's what I was going to do before you guys came." She shrugged, smiling slightly. "I'm still going to check it out. Do you two want to come with me? If it really is something serious then I had better not go alone.
OOC:// I hope that it's ok that I'm talking about this... :\ the plot hasn't reached WindClan yet, but I thought that it would make a good RP.

"Sure", meowed Birchfur. "It's best to get it over and done with." He slowly got to his paws and began to walk in the direction that Windfleet had pointed out.

"Okay," Dewdrop said and followed the two cats. He raised his head and opened his mouth to taste the air. Leaf litter, leaf mould, rabbit blood was all he could smell but then, the pungent smell of crow food. "I see what you mean," he said gravely.

Windfleet nodded. "Birchfur, wait," she called after the receding warrior. Turning to Dewdrop, she said, her voice low and serious, "If anything happens to me I want you guys to save yourselves. Go back to camp and warn Spottedstar. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Gazing at both of them, she added, "That is an order." And without further ado, she lept down the moor and began to run in the direction of the crow-food smell.

Birchfur skidded to a halt to halt, pausing to let the other two catch up. As Windfleet passed him, he picked up the pace again, running swiftly at the deputy's side. "When did you first scent this?" he asked, his voice softening in the wind.

Dewdrop raised his brow when he heard Windfleet. "And where is the loyalty in that?" he growled as he caught up with her. He flicked his ears and opened his mouth again, scenting the air once more.
