Lynxheart sat on her own as usual, and began to clean her tawny flecked fur. She looked around gracefully, her wide amber eyes blinking a few times as she slowly got used to the late sun. She slowly began to clean her paws and gently rubbed them around her jaws and ears. Having such a thick pelt was a burden, she had to clean it almost every day! She narrowed her eyes with distate as grit formed in her jaws.

Cloudstripe trotted out and glanced over at Lynxheart. She didn't know her very well, though she didn't know why. She just hadn't made it a very high priority to get to know that particular cat that sat on her own so much. She started towards her, her tan pelt's white stripes glistened in the sun as she neared her. 'Hello Lynxheart.' she called with a friendly smile, settling down near her and licking a white paw. She looked back up at her, gold eyes sparkled as she wondered about Lynxheart. She liked to know the cats in the clan well and it bothered her a little to not know someone.

Lynaheart blinked at Cloudstripe and gave her a rare smile. "Hello," she meowed loudly. She grinned and twitched her tail and began cleaning her gossamer like fur. Lynxheart wasn't a pretty cat, nor an ugly one, but when she smiled, her face transformed and showed cats her true beauty.

Cloudstripe grinned back at her. She seems friendly enough. Wonder why she's always by herself? She shrugged and then licked a paw, drawing it over her face to make sure it was clean. 'Nice day isn't it?' she commented with a smile as she glanced momentarily up at the sky. Her white tipped tail twitched as a leaf floated by. Cloudstripe watched it fall quietly, it was so pretty, yellow with streaks of red on it. Leaffall was her favorite season.

"For many reasons it is, but others, it is not," Lynxheart replied. She too watching the falling leaf and smiled gently, her tail flicking. Her eys narrowed against the slight sun that formed through the canopy of leaves. She looked at Cloudstrip for a moment before returning her gaze back on the leaves. She grinned. She didn't need to say anything else.

Cloudstripe wanted to go and play with the leaf, like she had when she was a kit and even as apprentice. She repressed the longing though and only shifted her weight from one side to the other. 'I love to chase leaves.' she whispered, not quite sure if she was talking to herself or to her new friend. Her eyes followed every movement that the leaf made before it landed lightly and gracefully on the ground.

"I never found that fun," she murmerd, watching the she-cat looking at the leaf. She surpressed a laugh and lay back. She twitched her tail and gazed around silently. "I always liked catching those bits of fluff that you get from dandelions, they gave more of a chase," she said and smiled.

Cloudstripe flicked her ear and looked at the other she-cat, glad that she wasn't the only one who liked to indulge in kitlike behavior from time to time. 'They would give more of a chase wouldn't they?' She grinned and chuckled at the thought of Lynxheart chasing dandelion fluff, it was a funny picture and made her smile in amusement. She was sure that she looked just as funny chasing leaves though. 'That would be fun, I'll have to try it sometime.' She twitched her tail and giggled to herself.

"But of course, I was an apprentice then," she said smiling. She too thought of how foolish she must sound. She twitched her tail and gazed at the sky. It was still warm but the sky was darkening. "It'll mizzle soon," she said, scenting the air softly.

Cloudstripe smiled and then raised her eyes to the sky also. She observed the darkening sky and then opened her mouth slightly, letting the wind reach the roof of her mouth. She breathed deeply and then nodded, closing her mouth and then her eyes for a moment. 'I love that smell.' she purred.
