Autumnstar raised her brow, if a feline could do such a thing. She flicked her tail in amusement and with a mock edge to her voice she said. "But couldn't cautious-ess seem like cowardness? Anyway, ThunderClan are so proud and brave, we won't come to any harm." Her voice was friendly and light, she did believe that RiverClan were cautious, as ShadowClan were fierce and WindClan fast, there was no doubt of this. She enjoyed the playful, almost kit-like banter.

Spottedstar just rolled her eyes at Autumnstar's comment. "I don't think that these loners know much about the clans anyway", she meowed. "They probably have no idea that we meet tonight. Besides, it is too early. They have to bring us down one by one; the can't handle a whole clan." The Windclan leader turned to Dankstar, "You're obviously outvoted", she said to him, "But I think that it's for the better. The other clans will react better to being told by their own leader then one of another clan." As she was speaking, her gaze flickered over to Nightstar a couple of times. The loner had mentioned some former Riverclanners in their group and a plan to attack that clan first. She'd have to talk to Nightstar after the gathering.

It was Nightstar’s turn to ‘raise an eyebrow’. What’s with this Autumnstar? To him, leadership never was something to joke around with, a leader should be solemn and sincere all of the time, shouldn’t one? He had often wished that he didn’t have to be so serious but it didn’t seem possible to be able to not be serious and still be a good leader.
He looked at Spottedstar and shifted somewhat uncomfortably. Why does she keep looking at me? He felt as though he perhaps had a smut on his nose or something that made him look ridiculous. He put his head to the side slightly but then dismissed it with a sigh. I can ask her about it later. He decided with a flick of his tail.
‘Shall the Gathering start then since we have finished our consultation? Or does anyone have more to say?’ He glanced at Spottedstar momentarily before looking at the other leaders.

"No", meowed the Windclan leader. "Except, I'd like to talk to you after the gathering, if you don't mind, Nightstar." She briefly stared at her paws for a few heart-beats before looking at the clearing again. - - - - Lillypaw remained by Snowshoe's side, keeping a look out for the other medicine cat apprentices. The bigger part of her feelings was excitement, but there was some worry for her mentor as well.

Autumnstar sighed, was it wrong to have a sense of humor? She twitched her tail irratably and resumed an emotionless face. Her gaze flitted across Spottedstar who kept looking at Nightstar, her brow furrowed. Why would Spottedstar wish to speak to Nightstar? She flicked her tawny speckled tail and looked at Dankstar, she twitched her ears and resumed looking at the Clans. She said nothing, she was rarely taken seriously. The others were so different from her and she felt slightly put out. The other leaders were serious, Nightstar and Dankstar mostly, but she felt like she was a silly kit. "Anytime you wish the Gathering to start, call it," she said softly.

Dankstar's jaw tightened as Spottedstar told him he was outvoted. If he was to speak, this would only postpone the Gathering longer.... "Yes, by all means, start," he agreed. He didn't mean to speak quite so harshly as he did, and, to his horror, his 'r' sounded like it had been rolled until it could roll no longer, in a manner of speaking.

Nightstar flicked his tail and stood up. ‘Let all cats cease their conversations and attend to us. The Gathering has begun.’ He glanced around at the cats before continuing. ‘RiverClan is doing well. There has been no signs of rogues on our territory since the time I told you about at the last Gathering. We have one new apprentice by the name of Kestrelpaw. That is all.’ He took his seat and turned his eyes on the other leaders, waiting for one of them to speak.

Spottedstar spoke next, her voice ringing out clearing around Fourtrees. "All is well in Windclan", she meowed. "We have no new apprentices or warriors." She shot a glance at the other leaders, reminding them about the danger that she had not accounted for. Dipping her head, she stepped back so that another cat could take her place.

Dankstar stepped up, his eyes narrowed. He was sure that, if he wanted, he could reveal the information... but then where would that get him? Nowhere. Inclining his head to the gathered cats below, Dankstar spoke. "ShadowClan is well. There has been no shortage of prey, and all our cats are well and healthy. We have no new apprentices or warriors as well." finished speaking, he drew back, allowing Autumnstar room to come forward and give her Clan announcements.

Autumnstar stood forawrd and let her gaze wash around all of the cats. "ThunderClan is well, just as the other Clans are," she said softly. "We have more warriors into our ranks, as well as apprentices," she added softly. Her voice seemed tired and emotionless as she spoke, but she no longer cared. She looked around, her emerald eyes glittering. Was this the last time she was to see all of this cats alive and healthy?1

A flash of worry sparked through Nightstar's eyes as he noted the strange tone in Autumnstar's voice. He was a caring cat underneath the stiffness that he imposed upon himself at having to be a leader. He felt that as leader he couldn't worry about anything but his clan, but he worried anyways for others, he just hid it better now. He wanted to ask Autumnstar what was wrong, but with a glance at the other leaders he quickly concealed his worry, though he found it to be hard. He looked down at the ground, then back up at the other leaders, straightening himself a little more from the slight slouch that he had dropped into.

Dankstar, also, noted the bleakness in Autumnstar's voice and eyes. But, as with everything, he gave no sign that he had saw or heard, continuing to look straight out into the thick trees surrounding Fourtrees. Perhaps he had imagined it, but if a prickling of his fur was any indication, tension between the four leaders was high. Or... not tension? Worry, perhaps, and anxiousness to be able to get the Gathering over and return to their seperate Clans. He himself was flooded by an overwhelming desire to make his Clan safe... Below them, the Clans, who normally sat quietly while the leaders gave announcements, were murmuring and milling around slightly. They, too, could sense the tension and worry that flowed from the Great Rock like an unstoppable tide. Dankstar turned his head for a moment, seeking out and finding his deputy. Meeting his deputy's gaze, he nodded his head almost imperceptibly, and a unspoken message seemed to pass between them. Satisfied, he resumed staring into the dark trees. A slight shiver passed through him as the wind blew; StarClan had not covered the moon, so he must assume that they approved of what the other's were doing. Almost as an afterthought, he sought out his medicine cat as well, and, meeting eyes, sent an unspoken message to the cat as well. He gazed now into the trees again, an slight expression of boredom on his normally emotionless but haughty features.

Autumnstar bowed her head, a small sign that she had finished. She sought out the eyes of her own Clan and sighed gently. She twitched her tail and moved slowly to the back, her face half hidden in the shadows. Thoughts washed over her mind as she gazed around the meeting place, her nose twitched slightly, trying to spot if their was any anomolies in the scent. She gazed around and her ears perked, their was no strange scent around. She twitched her whiskers and waited to hear if any other leader had any more comments.

When Kestrelpaw heard her name mentioned by her beloved leader Nightstar she puffed out her fluffy chest and lifted her head. This was her first gathering and she was extreamly pleased. Her eyes twinkled like dimonds.
After a while she realized there was something wrong with the leaders. Like there was a bad auror around them all. She felt her own muscles tense and her eyes cloud. She wondered if any of the cats around her had noticed but she could not raise her voice in the middle of a gathering. Kestrelpaw could sense that the leaders all knew something. She was very good at knowing when some one was keeping something from her.

Winter said nothing. Her eyes said it all. Anxious with worry, gentle with understanding. Her light blue opts met Nightstar's, and she passed him a message, willing him to understand. The Clan's are anxious. We must leave. Now.
Once Autumnstar was done, Dankstar turned his head slightly so that the side of his face was facing the other leaders. "Are we done?" He asked softly. The leaders had said their pieces... surely nothing could hold them back any longer. He waited for one, for anyone, to answer.
