Brightkit padded on -- more like ran -- until she noticed her paws trodding on the floor of the Secret Woodland. She didn't know if Rivermist was near her; or even if she knew where Brightkit went, but if she didn't, Rivermist could always follow her easy scent; she smelled like milk from the nursery. Brightkit had no clue where to find any herbs, but she figured Rivermist would tell her. Brightkit started to sniff around, and the tempting smell of prey flooded over her. Though she wasn't taught how to hunt yet, she still had natural instincts. She crouched down, yet she knew she probrobly shouldn't try to catch anything -- was that not against the rules? So she decided not to hunt, especially if she wasn't sure if kits were allowed. Instead, she just licked her front right paw; she wanted to keep herself clean for the promised apprentice ceremony; otherwise, she wouldn't really care if she was clean or not, unless of course she was to be around other cats. Brightkit looked around, her white-and-brown pelt blowing a bit in the light breeze that managed to come through the thick forest of trees. Then, she just stared off, imagining her apprentice ceremony, as she waited for Rivermist.

"There you are." There was a certain amount of relief in Rivermist's voice as the medicine cat hurried up to the small kit. "I was afraid I'd lost you. Stay within sight next time; there are things out here that can be dangerous." Smiling kindly at the kit, so she would know that Rivermist wouldn't do something other than gently berate her, the medicine cat took a moment to look around and assess their surroundings. They were in what ThunderClan called the "Secret Woodland," a place good for finding herbs that liked to grow in both shady and sunny areas. "Lets see..." she murmered, turning a full circle. The day was a beautiful one, bright and sunny, but cool under the shade of the trees. "All right." Turning back to Brightkit, she addressed the little she-cat. "Right now, lets gather some Borage. It has little five-petaled pink or blue flowers; a very distinctive plant. So... choose a direction, and lets go! You can lead us if you want. And maybe we can hunt a little bit." Rivermist looked around again, scenting the air. It was fresh and clean, and Rivermist was glad that today was turning out to be such nice weather for herb-hunting. A good thing; she was almost out of Borage - Orchidwing had used the last - and it would be good to get some Thyme, Burdock, and Marigold. Just in case anything happened. |

"Yes, Rivermist. I'll try to say closer next time; I'm sorry," Brightkit mewed. She shivered at the mention of dangerous things. Like bloodthirsty cats who find joy in killing my mother! she thought as she flexed her claws, in and out, scraping up earth as rage blew through her. She'd almost forgotten that Rivermist was standing there, so she sheathed her claws and looked up at Rivermist. Brightkit hoped Rivermist didn't notice, or didn't sense that something was wrong. If she asked, Brightkit couldn't lie, especially not to a medicine cat. My whole Clan knows about my mother's death, so why do I try to hide my rage? Brightkit thought, because I don't want to remind anyone, that's why. Brightkit hoped she'd convinced herself. Her mother was a great warrior, she knew that, and all that mattered was that her mother loves her. Feeling her normal self, Brightkit nodded, still hoping that Rivermist hadn't noticed, then turned and started to trot off in one direction. She sniffed around the forest floor, and came across a five-petaled flower-like plant. It had blue leaves, and it was growing under the shade of a large tree; right by the roots. "Rivermist, is this borage?" Brightkit asked.

Crytalpaw trotted up behind Brightkit. She looked at the kit warmly. She loved kit, even if she couldn't have any herself. But that was just fine with her. "Hello, Brightkit, Rivermist."she mewed. "I was just enjoying the weather. Would you mind if I joined you?'' Crystalpaw was desperate for something to do. Camp was pretty boring at the time. Besides, she thought she might be of better use out here with Brightkit and Rivermist. She glanced at the herb Brightkit was pointing at. "I think it is,"she looked at Rivermist. "Is it?"
