The wind howled through the rolling hills of the delicate moor. Snow landed softly on the grass. Tufts of green stuck out above the white blanket. "How can others cope!" She hissed baring her teeth. She jumped violently as snow landed on her naked back. "Foxdung!" She spat, shaking it of of herself. Magpieheart's hairless body shivered in the cold. It would have been bad enough with fur! A kittypet sphynx cat would be inside its home, cowering away under a blanket! Not Magpieheart! She was a true Windclan warrior, no matter how cold it got!
Then slightly in the distance she scented rabbit. "Finally!" She spoke softly. With easy paw steps she looked at the small brown, skinny rabbit. It was puny and small but food is food, She thought. Then she smelt another. It was fast approaching the area where the first rabbit was sitting. Magpieheart smiled. The first rabbit stopped nibbling on some grass poking through the snow and sat up straight. His ears pricked and stood upright. His nose twitched. Then from just further on the hills a big black rabbit sprang. It stopped as soon as it saw the other rabbit. The black rabbit's ears swiveled. Clearly she was trying to hear danger. Magpieheart crouched silent. The two rabbits touched noses. Then both began to eat contently. The younger brown one's ears were back were as the older black one had its ears erect. It was the most experienced. It knew to keep its ears up when eating because danger comes at any time. Magpieheart thought If I go for the younger it will be a direct hit. Thats good. But its skinny and small. he big black one would be better. Though it might get away... With courage in her heart and a spring in her step, Magpieheart stalked closer. Then BAM. She sprang toward the two at amazing speed her paws on fire as she sprinted though the snow. To her surprise the younger one ran away more quickly than the older. Its small size must have vastly decreased his speed. Were as the black female was slowing behind. Magpieheart kept going, running over the cold snow until the black rabbit tripped on a rock hidden beneath the cold sheet. It tumbled along the hill. Magpieheart swiftly caught up to it and killed it with a swipe of her hairless paw.
She looked to her side and saw the other brown rabbit looking terrified. When he saw her looking at him her darted to the nearest rabbit hole. Magpieheart smiled. She had made an excellent catch. Ashtooth, her old mentor would have been proud had he still been with her. The tom now hunted with Starclan. Turning round Magpieheart stopped dead in her tracks. Six large horses galloped through the icy snow. They were lead by a brown stallion. He swung his great head, flicking his chocolate colored mane. The horses behind him where all enjoying the snow too. Although this was now the first time Magpieheart had seen horses, she was still amazed by them. There power and beauty. She flicked her hairless tail. "Wow."
