Nightmare is an agile looking she-cat. She has a long body with plenty of muscles. Her neck is short, but thick and noticeable, yet not ugly. Her head is small and round. Her tail is about the length of her legs, which are a foot long. Nightmare has two colors on her body. Her pelt is smooth and dark tan, almost looking brown in some places. Her legs, tail, and head are all black. The insides of her ears are brown. All together, she is an ordinary looking cat. Everything, besides her eyes. Rarely do cats have multi-colored eyes, but Nightmare is one of those so called “lucky ones”. Her left eye is gray, almost white, but her right eye is a watery blue color. This multi-colored feature in her eyes makes them weaker then most cats, and sometimes she is almost blind. Both eyes always have a pained look in her eyes, like she has some story to tell but he desperately afraid to tell it.Personality:
Nightmare is what some would call a freak, others crazy. Both words pretty much describe her. Her persona makes her hard to get along with and understand at first, but once you get passed it you will begun to see the world through her eyes. You will begin to understand why she has such a hard time figuring out the difference between nightmares and reality. Why she prefers to wander hidden at night, in the shadows, then under the eye of the sun. She was hurt as a little kit, threatened all her life. She has difficulty figuring out if what someone says to her is true, really happening, or just a horrible dream that she will never wake up from. Nightmare prefers to go about at night, because she feels more concealed and this way, nightmares can’t sneak up on her at night if she isn’t sleeping. Inside, she is trying to reach out and grab someone, make them understand the pained look in her eyes. What Nightmare really wants is someone to love, someone to love her. But can that really happen when you aren’t trusted as much as you should be? Pretty hard to explain when you don’t talk much. Nightmare hardly utters a word, but when she does it almost always has great meaning.History:
Nightmare was born at night to a blind, blue-eyed mother and an unknown father. She was raised to never speak to much, to keep quiet, to not tell her name, or her mothers name. So, that is what she did. Most of the time, other cats thought she was mute. Some cats made fun of her for it, and her mother did nothing about it. Slowly, Nightmare began to fear others words, fear what they thought of her. But her mother still wouldn’t let her talk. It wasn’t until she was five moons old that she was told why she couldn’t speak.Other:
Her father had been a bad cat in these parts. He went around, killing others for fun, and always said he would give others nightmares, thus Nightmare’s name. But one day, he took things to far. One of the cats most loved queens had just had a litter or six kits, all healthy. That night, he took them all and drowned them in a near-by river. Because of this, everyone vowed to destroy him, his mate, and any kits he had.
When Nightmare’s mother heard about this, she ran away from him, trying to hide. When Nightmare was born, she was afraid of her. She was afraid she would spill her secret, get both of them killed.
It wasn’t to much later that Nightmare began having extreme nightmares. They seemed almost prophetic. She would dream of a horrible death, and later on it would happen. It seemed as if she was locked in a nightmare, always wondering who would die next.
Her mother. That was who. She had a dream that her father found them, killed her mother, then killed himself. That very next day, it happened. He found them, and started to hurt his ex-mate. He clawed her eyes, bit her tail, scraped her stomach, all the while forcing Nightmare to watch what she already knew was going to happen. Then, he ran up a tree, leaving his ex-mate to die and leaped out of the tree, falling ‘pon her bleeding body. Nightmare can still remember that sound, the sound of bones smashing. Till this day, she still has nightmares, and it always feels as if a ghost or something is following her, waiting until the day she lets her guard down before it strikes again.
