A white tom whose chest and belly were gray and who had a brown spot on his tail and forehead trotted out of the leaders den. His belly fur was longer than the rest of his pelt. Tonight was the night of the Gathering, and he had been considering who he should bring with him, the deputy of course and then he made a quick decision about the rest. Nightstar glanced up at the sky and then put his head back and called out, 'I have chosen Heathermist, Flydew, Wetwhisker, Blacklight, Nightpaw to come with me to the Gathering.' He glanced around the camp before starting off for Four Trees with a twitch of his gray tipped tail. 'Let us head out.'

A cold wind swirled over the dark landscape, making the fur ruffle on the black cat's body. Though a weaker cat would have shuddered and cringed at the cold, biting wind, this cat seemed to not even realize it was there. Gazing with eyes narrowed out onto ShadowClan territory, Dankstar stood on a hillock just outside the camp entrance. Suddenly he spun around and stalked into camp. "Puddleclaw; Shadewhisker. It is time." raising his voice, he called out the names of the cats who were to come with him. "Robinpaw. Teardrop. Tigereye. Runningwater. Patchpaw. You will accompany me to the Gathering. The rest of you- stay here." so saying, he stalked back out of camp, the large but slender paws making no noise on the ground. He did not wait to see if the patrol followed him; he listened instead for the soft tread of paws on the earth behind him. Once he was out of the immediate range of the camp, he fell into a steady, loping pace towrads Four Trees... and the Gathering.

A spotted brown pelt could be seen bristling with excitement near Dankstar. Robinpaw, the medicine cat apprentice of Shadowclan was going to a gathering. He purred and stood up. The brown tom was thrilled. This was his fourth gathering and he still felt the excitement that clung to nearly everyone during it. He got ready to go and stood alongside the closest cat near him, which happened to be Puddleclaw. "Hi." He said softly, almost inaudibly and touched his 'lucky wing'.

Heathermist purred. Maybe she would see her sister here! Maybe she could get to know her better. She really hoped so! She had only seen her for a moment. She wished Darkwater could go too. She knew he couldn't be with her every second. If he did, she wouldn't have any privacy!
Teardrop purred with exitement. She hadn't gone to many gatherings. She had been too depressed. She was also glad her friend Runningwater was going too. It wouldn't feel right without her! This would be her first gathering where she wasn't depressed!

Autumnstar gazed around, she had just called a meeting. "Darkclaw, Rivermist, Crystalpaw, it is time," she said to them. She lifted her tail and gazed at her clan, her emerald gaze skimming over the others. "Dewberry, Specklestripe, Raindance, Laurelpaw, Larchpaw, Bluepaw and Mistpaw may come to the Gathering. The rest, you have to stay and guard the camp. Greytail, you will lead the first patrol," she said, nodding at him.
She flicked her tail as she walked to the Fourtrees. This was a customary sign for her Clan to swarm down into the clearing.

Mistpaw's eyes were sparkling with excitement as he ran excitedly afer Autumnstar, staying close behind her with his tail high in happiness. This was his first Gathering and he couldn't wait to see what it was like. He didn't walk with the apprentices, he didn't like being around other cats much, but Autumnstar he had gotten used to and he enjoyed her company now that she was his mentor.
Specklestripe followed after his leader silently, not excited but not not excited either. The only reason that he had that he wouldn't want to go was that he might see his sister, who he didn't know was medicine cat of WindClan, nobody knew in fact. All he knew was that his sister had joined WindClan and that was enough.

Flydew padded along behind Nightstar, her eyes alert and bright as she surveyed the land around her. A small smile appeared on her face; the slender Turkish Van was glad to be out of the camp. Of course, she had been out of the camp often, but she was glad to be going farther than you would just go to patrol or hunt... away from memories of Nightsplit. She shuddered slightly, and the smile disappeared-how she missed him! Flydew shivered, but covered it up by pretending she had to scratch. No need for anyone to get worried about her now, not on the way to the Gathering...
Larchpaw sighed. Laurelpaw was being difficult--not in a bad way, but just being overall hyper and difficult to calm, so much was her excitement at going to the Gathering. "Just think, Larchpaw," her sister would mew excitedly, "We'll be announced by Autumnstar as apprentices! I can't believe it!" and would then run off, only to return and repeat again what she had said before. "Laurelpaw!" Larchpaw snapped finally. "I know you're excited, but could you leave me alone?" she let herself drop back even farther in the patrol going to the Gathering. She felt bad for talking so rudely to her sister, but she was facing the prospect of being with all the Clans with a growing dread... I was afraid of my apprentice ceremony, Larchpaw thought desperatly. How can I face a gathering of all the Clans?
Laurelpaw stared after her sister, shaken, not moving. She was bumped, and a voice growled "Get moving." "Oh, sorry," she mewed apologetically, immediatly getting out of the way. "I'm just so excited, you know?" she smiled ruefully at the warrior, then quickly dropped back to speak with her sister. "Look, I'm sorry, Larchpaw," she mewed gently. "I'm just so-" "Excited, I know," spat out Larchpaw. "You've already told me too many times." "Whoa, sorry," Laurelpaw said, taken aback. "All right, I'll leave you alone." she hurried up, weaving her way through the patrol, until she was next to Mistpaw. "Hi," she said.
"Spottedstar," Windfleet mewed as she entered her leaders den, "It's time for the Gathering." she knew her leader probably already knew this, but just in case... "Who are you going to take?" herself and Snowshoe, she knew that already, but she had no idea if Spottedstar had any other cat planned.

Spottedstar looked up from where she had just finished giving herself a final grooming. "Ah yes, I was expecting you Windfleet." The leader stood up as she answered her deputy's question. "You, Snowshoe and Lillypaw, plus Featherflight, Dewdrop, Fogwind and Thunderpaw. I want to make sure that the camp is well guarded after all these loners running about." She stepped through the entrance of her den, calling out clearly the names of the cats that she'd just mentioned to Windfleet. "It's time for the gathering", she meowed. - - - - Smallpaw tried not to look disappointed when Autumnstar didn't mention his then. But then again, it would probably be a while before he went to another gathering, considering how the last one turned out. - - - - Lillypaw bounded up at her leader's call, her fur tingling in excitement. This was her first gathering. As a medicine cat apprentice. She wanted to meet the other medicine cats, in preparation for her ceremony at Highstones. That was only half a moon away. I can't wait!, the young white she-cat thought to herself.

Autumnstar cast her gaze around for a second or two. She twitched her tail and watched her clan absentmindedly for a moment before she walked down into the clearing. She opened her mouth and tasted the air, shadowClan. She looked around and saw the new leader, Dankstar. She slowly inclined her head as a greeting.
Patchpaw looked around, his emerald eyes twinkling. He was barely a forest cat at all yet he got to come to the gathering! He grinned and walked at the back of the patrol, in fear of offending someone.

Nightstar strode silently into the clearing, giving his tail a twitch to dismiss his warriors to chat with the other clanners. He made his way towards thr rock and then sat, waiting for the gathering to start, twitching his tail impatiently.

Snowshoe got up and trotted eagerly after her leader, wide paws pounding the ground quietly. She was excited about going to the Gathering and meeting up with the other medicine cats. The night was so beautiful, the only thing that made her quiver in nervousness was the thought of seeing her brother.
Featherflight's white black striped body rose as he heard his name called. He leaped to follow Spottedstar, excited to go to another Gathering and talk to other cats, hopefully he could listen in on the Medicine Cats and get some more ideas of things to tell Sunday. He smiled at the thought.

Heathermist walked into the clearing. She gazed up at the full moon. She tried to pick her sister's scent out from all the rest of the cats, but there were too many.
Dewberry looked around. She was exited to be coming to the gathering. She hoped she would see her sister again. She looked around, searching for her sister's gray pelt, and her eyes so much like her own.
Crystalpaw looked over at Bluepaw. He had recovered well since his sickness. She loved gatherings. She couldn't wait to see all the other medicine cats and there apprentices.
Teardrop padded into the gathering. She looked up at the stars. Her mother was watching over her, she just knew it! She looked over at Runningwater. She was so happy her new friend could come.

Lillypaw remained at Snowshoe's side as her clan made their way to the gathering. "Are you going to take me to meet the other medicine cats?" she asked in a hushed voice, quivering in anticipation. The apprentice looked up, seeing Spottedstar stop just in front of her. We must be at Fourtrees!. Lillypaw couldn't wait for her leader's signal to go down and start exploring.
The bengal she-cat halted at the edge of Fourtrees, her spotted pelt glowing slightly in the moonlight. She flicked her tail for Windclan to gather around her. The leader looked up wards for a heartbeat; like she did before every gathering. The full moon shined brightly in the centre of the sky. Around it, Starclan warriors were beginning to appear more rapidly. Smokeheart, are you watching me? Spottedstar knew that she was. Her sister was always with her, no matter how far apart they were.

Autumnstar walked clearly into the gathering place and bounded up onto the Gathering Rock. She looked at Nightstar and inclined her head as a greeting. Her emerald eyes watched her Clan and RiverClan talk and then saw the shadow of the WindClan patrol. She flicked her tail gently, waiting cautiously. She twitched her whiskers when she saw ShadowClan and again looked around at the apprentices shyly mingling and the warriors talk. Yet as she gazed around she had the feeling that she was being watched...
Emerald eyes met emerald eyes as Patchpaw locked gazes with the tortoise shell cat. His grey fur rippling slightly with weariness. Could this really be his mother? He looked at her intently, unsure of what to do.
Autumnstar gazed at the apprentice, shock over her face. She narrowed her eyes slightly. She hadn't seen him in moons yet she could never forget her own kit. Whjat was he doing with ShadowClan? Her tail curled around her paws, wondering if Dankstar would say anything about him being her kit.

~WC~ Snowshoe smiled and nodded. 'Yes, I'll introduce you to the other medicine cats. The Gathering is a fun place to learn, sometimes the other medicine cats find helpful poultices and share their findings with the other medicine cats.' she smiled as she thought of all the things she had learned from other medicine cats at the Gatherings.
Featherflight trotted up to Patchpaw. 'Hello!' he said in a friendly tone. 'You're a new apprentice aren't you? Welcome to apprenticeship.' He grinned and flicked his tail, glancing around to see if there were any other medicine cats besides Snowshoe that he could listen to.
~TC~ Mistpaw glanced around and saw the new apprentice of ShadowClan. He stared at him for a moment and then glanced over at his leader for a moment to get a good look at her before looking back at Patchpaw. He chuckled to himself as he saw that they looked a lot alike. He didn't put much thought about it though, what was there to think about? It was an apprentice that happened to look a like his leader. Who cared?
Specklestripe didn't even notice Patchpaw's looking like Autumnstar but instead mingled with the other warriors, accidentally bumping against him for a moment. He curled his lip in disgust as he caught the slight scent of kittypet. He narrowed his eyes at Patchpaw before moving on, paying him no more heed.

~TC~ Bluepaw grinned from ear to ear. His fisrt gathering! It was glorious! He walked up beside Raindance and nodded at her. He felt a little shy around all these cats.
"Blepaw! Go talk to the apprentices! I want to meet some other warriors. Go! Have fuN!" Raindance meowed.
