Moongaze stared silently at the Shady Creek, the gurgling of water ringing through her ears. She drew her front paw over her ear, lost in thought. She had nothing to do. She'd been hunting all afternoon. Memories passed through her mind over and over again without her bothering to stop them. She sighed, slowly rising to her paws. It was probably about time for her to return to camp.

Mudface bioA big mud colored tom sulked through the territory. He scented the air, catching a she-cat scent from his Clan. Moongaze. He breathed in deeply, seeing if she was still there. Powerful muscles could be seen twitching under his pelt. He purred and padded to were he scented Moongaze to be. Sitting next to her, Mudface licked his paw and nodded a greeting.

Moongaze nodded to him in greeting. "Hello Mudface", she meowed politely. "How are you going? Catching much prey?" The she-cat turned away from him briefly to gaze at the peaceful scene of the creek in front of her. The sound of the water cascading gently off the rocks soothed her ears.

Mudface shook his pelt and wrapped his tail around his frint paws. "Nothing much caught taday but a fat fish." He licked his left paw and drew it over his ears, giving them a good cleaning before going on, "So, what are you doing out her all alone? Isn't there some attacke going on?" He bent doen sligtly, trying to make eye contact with the pretty cat. Then again, he thought all she-cats(well most) were beautiful. beauty is as beuty does...

Moongaze shrugged. "I don't mind being on my own", she meowed truthfully. "It's good to have your thoughts to yourself every now and again. Besides, if anyone tries to attack me, I'll just yowl at the top of my lungs, and someone's bound to hear me." She fell silent, thinking about what she's just said. She liked being on her own, but not all the time; she didn't know how she'd cope without the company of her clan-mates. Would her words drive Mudface away?

Mudface agreed silently with Moongaze's words. He himself had gone out of camp alone on some stless nights. "Just as long as you are strong, nothing can hurt you." he swalloed, wishing it was true. But deep down, he was hurting. He always would no matter how strong he was! A dying moth fell from the sky. A great suprise that made Mudface think, Was that a sign?

Just as long as you are strong, nothing can hurt you.. Moongaze wished that it was so, but she knew that it wasn't true. Despite reaching such a certain conclusion, the words still echoed inside her head. As the lifeless body of a moth hit the ground, Moongaze thought that she saw a look of horror cross the other warrior's face. Her eyebrows creased. Had she been imagining? "Anything wrong?" she asked.

Moongaze stared doubly at him for a few heartbeats. O....kay... were the words running through her head. What in Starclan's name is that supposed to mean? She shook herself away from the knowledge-less trance. "What sort of thoughts?" she questioned Mudface, wanting to know to reason for him saying these strange and random words.

Mudface tighted up. Curse his mouth! He had never wanted to say anything that might lead to the story of his past, but now it looked like he couldn't avoid it! Well, a littel couldn't hurt. Just small unimportant details. "About my life. Be-before I came..." he took a deep breath. "Before I foind the Clans." HE sat back up, his back stiff and he tried to hide the tears welling up in his eyes. Thinking about his life before Clanslife always pained him. "And how I came to be here." He added, slighly turning i=his head to look at the she-cat.

Moongaze nodded, understanding his reluctance to say any more. She would not make him reveal painful memories for the sake of expanding her knowledge of her clan mates. Her thoughts drifted back to her own unshared memories - a desire to heal; Moonstone lighting up as her leader shared dreams with Starclan. Nobody else in the clan knew that she'd wanted to become a medicine cat when she was a kit. She'd been too shy to mention it. She tried to think of something polite to say to Mudface, but her mind came up with nothing.
[ooc] I know, I saw it once. But I only just realized that your Moongaze is a medicine cat, and mine wanted to be a medicine cat. Lol!

ic: Mudface noticed that Moongaze didn't want to say much, so he just sat a looked up at the sky. He nodded his head a few times, as if listening to music like the Twolegs used to back home. BUt was it really home? Isn't home were you want to be? he gromed, reliveing he had never had a real home before! To him, this was his first real home!

Moongaze's eyes remained on the gurgling creek for a few more heartbeats. "So", she meowed. "Feel up to a bit of hunting? We could go together." She didn't know whether her request would be accepted or not, but there was no harm in asking. The she-cat began to clean her chest fur, so if the other warrior refused, she could keep her face and reaction hidden.

Mudface nodded. "Okay. SOunds great!" He heaved himself to his paws and stood waiting for Moongaze. He widened his orbs when she leicked her chest, as if not caring if he said yes or no.

Relieved that he'd accepted the offer, Moongaze immediately sprang to her paws. "So where do you want to go?" she asked politely, not wanting to make the decision herself. She quickly opened her mouse, drawing in the scent of prey. "Wait there a minute", she murmured, twitching her ears for silence. She padded silently into the bushes until she was swallowed up by the undergrowth. Soon later, she emerged triumphantly with a vole clamped between her jaws.
