"Sorrow?" The quiet voice drifted through the breeze beside the scent of fear. A white she-cat glanced back and forth from where she hid behind a bush. "Sorrow, are you there?" The loner padded out into the open, stopping at the base of the large tree where she knew her friend lived. Her only friend. The one cat she could trust. Snowfall washed her face to calm herself down, looking up the tree again. She placed her forepaws on its truck and peered upwards. "Sorrow?"

Sorrow's head and wide eyes appeared. The diluted calico had been having a cat nap when she had heard her friend call. 'Snowfall?' she put her head to the side. 'What's wrong? Come on up.' Her eyes were worried for she could sense the fear that was in Snowfall's voice and manner. What on earth could be wrong? Has she gotten kicked out of her territory by other loners? She waited patiently for Snowfall to come up, glancing around instinctively as if she expected a fox or badger was somewhere near and was about to attack her or her friend.

Snowfall didn't need a run-up like she usually did. With a last glance over her shoulder, she pelted up the tree truck. Sharp claws pierced the wood so hard that zap began to trickle out. "Rouges", she gasped, out of breath from the dash she'd made before. "Attack, clans." She shivered as swallowed, forcing herself onward. "There's about five of them. They're gonna start a war. They saw me." She shivered again.

Sorrow's eyes widened. 'What do you mean? They're going to fight the clans? Just the five of them?' she chuckled. 'The clans are stronger than that I should hope, those rogues are crazy.' She shook her pelt, which had gotten ruffled in fear at first and gave her chest fur a lick. She looked at Snowfall again, why was she so worried? Maybe she just didn't know how strong the clans were? It didn't seem possible that she thought that they were that weak though, there must be more to the story. She looked curiously at Snowfall, eyes full of uncertainty.

Snowfall shook her head, glancing over her shoulder again to make sure that no one was watching her. "They're going to rather more loners and attack them one by one.", she meowed. "Kill patrols, steal kits, blame it on other innocent clans. They'll make the clans fight each other in the end. They saw me." The she-cat's claws scraped across some loose bark. "They'll kill me if they find out that I told someone about this. But I couldn't keep it inside me. The rouges seem to be lead by a cat called Darkwind. Do you know him?" Snowfall questioned.

Sorrow put her head to the side. 'No, I don't recall him.' She shuddered. 'What twisted evil cat fallen from StarClan would do such a thing? What are we going to do?' She looked down at her paws and sighed. She hadn't the slightest idea what to do. If they told then the rogues would know who had told and would kill Snowfall and if they didn't then they would take over the forest and they might get killed anyway. She growled a little, something that she hadn't done for a long time, if ever. This angered her that rogues were planning to attack and then cause chaos among the clans, including the one that she had been a part of since her kithood.

"They don't know where I live", Snowfall meowed softly. "I could live on the run. Stay away from places in which to plan to go. What would give away my location?" But Snowfall had the feeling that things wouldn't turn out that way. The rouges would find a solution somehow. The white she-cat opened her mouth to say something else, but couldn't find any words. Uncountable ideas raced through her head, but she knew that none where fool-proof.

'That might work.' Sorrow sighed and looked down at the bark under her paws, thinking. 'Maybe you could come live with me and I could teach you how to live in the trees. With the trees as your friends nothing can hurt you. No cat is very good at using the trees unless they practice. She shrugged, she hadn't the slightest idea of what to do, and she didn't like that. She hadn't ever really thought of what was going on outside her little tree home, not since she went into hiding. The more she thought about it the more hopeless she grew, which wasn't uncommon for her. She began to feel as if there wasn't anything she could do about it and it would be better to just not worry about it and go on with her life.

The white loner couldn't help feeling that she had a duty to help the clans. She'd trespassed so many times, stealing their precious prey. Telling them of this new danger could pay them back for all she'd done. Perhaps they'd let her take the occasional rabbit or two afterwards. She might make more friends. Snowfall desperately wanted to help them, but it seemed impossible to conceal herself from the rouges in question.

Sorrow sighed again. 'If there is anything I can do...' she looked up at her friend. 'Just say so, I'm not afraid to help, I'm not afraid of the rogues, if they attack me I'll defend myself, but if they kill me then I'm not going to be too sad, neither would anyone else really.' She smiled at Snowfall. 'I'm alone in the world, I have no family, that's why I left the clans. All of my family died, and so did my friends. You are my only friend.' She frowned at her paws, it was true, after her family and friends died she left, she paid the world and its inhabitants no more heed after that.

The other loner stared down at her paws. Sorrow's situation couldn't have been any more similar to hers. Snowfall had only one friend. She had no family and lived alone. The only differance was that she'd never known her family. She'd never known a life different to the one that she lived today. "You don't have to do that Sorrow", the she-cat meowed quietly. "I got myself into this; I don't want you in danger too."

Sorrow looked at Snowfall. 'But true friends stand by you to the end.' she meowed. 'You're my friend, and the only one I have, if something happens to you then it'll be back to my old life, nothing matters and there is nothing to live for.' She sighed and then smiled a little, this is what she had believed in when she was a clanner, when she had been happy. Now she was believing in it again and it made her feel good to believe in something, to actually have someone to stand by.

Snowfall sighed. "Suppose there's no way to unconvince you then." She gave a little chuckle. Unconvince?, she thought to herself. I doubt that's a word. "We're quite similar, in a way", the white loner meowed out aloud. "All we've got is each other." The sentence repeated in Snowfall's head for several heart-beats after she'd said it.
[ooc] That's the crappiest post I've done in a long time.

Sorrow smiled and nodded. 'Yes, I would say we were a lot alike. We neither of us have any relatives or friends besides each other, and we both are loners.' She purred to herself happily and moved a little nearer to Snowfall, licking at her cheek, sharing tongues as the clanners called it. It felt very good to have a friend to do this with again, it was very soothing and comforting to have another cat nearby that was a friend and to be sharing tongues.

Snowfall returned Sorrow's gesture by giving her friend a lick on the shoulder. She felt reassured by the friendship she had developed with the other loner. No matter what happened, she wouldn't be alone. That in its self was comforting. The white she-cat felt her troubles melting away. It was hard to think of blood and death when all was quiet and peaceful around Sorrow's tree home.
